A caregiver is an individual that is designated by a registered qualifying patient to assist the patient. A caregiver may legally possess, distribute, cultivate, and provide medicinal cannabis. A caregiver can be any person who meets the requirements; and he may handle up to five registered patients. A caregiver is responsible for making sure the patient gets the medication the doctor recommends and will also help to pick up marijuana on behalf of the patient.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or above.
- Must not have any background of felony offense.
- Must be designated by a registered patient.
- Must registered with the Department of Health.
Becoming a Caregiver
Step 1: Patient must be certified to use medical marijuana.
Step 2: Patient must designate an individual to be the patient’s personal caregiver.
Step 3: Patient must submit an application form with the designated caregiver’s information to register him with the Department of Health.
